PINE LAKE UPDATE
 ...by Roger Sutton, PLC Director

One week before the hailstorm that did so much damage, a team from First Baptist in Muscatine was a significant part of the crew that changed the look of the parking lot at our office.  Eight weeks later, it looks like this...

This 16'x40' building is already providing a place to store and work on our many pieces of small powered equipment.  It's a great blessing and I would also say a long- awaited vision/dream come true.  Thank you First Baptist team and many others who worked and gave to make this a reality.

Tomorrow, if all goes well, more volunteers will be completing another project.  For several years, First in Forest City have been working on Chestnut and Cypress as part of their Adopt A Cabin Project.  They've accomplished roofing, staining, sanding and painting.  Now it's time for new carpet!  Until recent years, we still called these cabins the "new cabins" though they are probably approaching twenty years old and were in need of some sprucing up.  Thank you Forest City Team and again, many others who worked and gave to help us provide safe, comfortable and pleasing cabins for our guests.

Without YOU we couldn't begin to do what needs to be done.  Thank you!!!

Roger

CHURCH PLANT UPDATES!

...Daybreak Family Fellowship, Des Moines, by Pastor Stanley Patton

Daybreak Family WorshipOn August 23rd Daybreak Family Worship Center held its first outdoor service on our new land!  Daybreak bought the North Forty Miniature Golf business.  This business came with over 3 acres of land and was in the heart of our targeted neighborhood.  Not only did this land come with land but also over 800 sq ft of office space.  At our event over 200 people were present.  We had an outdoor service followed by a community BBQ.  We plan to have another service on our land September 20th.  The land is located at 2410 Hickman Road in Des Moines.

...The River's Edge, Iowa Falls, by Pastor Carlton Anderson
Keep praying for Pastor Mike and our youth ministries!  The group continued to grow as the year progressed last year, and last week [early September] our new school year started off with a bang!  We had record attendance numbers on our very first kick off week!  57 youth attended last week and we're continuing to anticipate a great year of growing kids in their faith!Nathan, Liz, & Silas Gann
...Mason City Church Plant (No Name Yet), by Pastor Carlton Anderson
Nathan and Liz Gann (and Silas) are our newest church planters!  Just like we started  The River's Edge in Iowa Falls 5 years ago, they've just moved to Mason City, beginning to form their launch team!  Nathan's a very unique kind of pastor... and he has a very unique vision for bringing Christ to Mason City in a new way!

FYI: Some of you may remember "Thad Seydel" from West Liberty... he will be the Worship Leader for this new church plant!  Thad and Nathan met in a very "providential" way!
